Spring Fling

images are mine and from my tumblr

I know I'm not the only one thinking this winter was too long! I'm already starting to get little glimpses of spring, which makes me want it to get here even faster! It was nice to see the sun stay out a little later yesterday. I can't wait for the nights to get longer and longer. I'm feeling inspired by baby pinks and blues and anything found in nature - mostly florals, but that's just every spring. Mostly I miss windows down, cruisin! You might recall several of these pictures from when I went to visit Ella for Spring Fling at Bard last year. Long days spent sunning ourselves in the grass, exposing our bare limbs, driving through the country roads with the windows down and the music turned all the way up. Most importantly spring means graduation and all the fun activities that surround it. Can't wait to officially strip my winter layers of sweaters, cowls, and coats - some much need catharsis!

Sunday Sandwiches: 'sNice

I've been meaning to go to s'Nice for such a long time. One of my roommates works there and will often bring back some of their delicious baked goods. Chloe and I ended up eating a completely vegan meal -  smoked tempeh wrap with greens, avocado, tomato and chipotle dressing, black coffee and then we split vegan cookies. Their peanut butter and jelly cookies are absolutely amazing. Hopefully once things settle down with school I can start baking again and try to recreate them. I've been wanting to get more into vegan baking. Walking back home we noticed that everything is in bloom and I love being able to go outside without a jacket.

Spring is in the air

All pictures from tumblr

It's been getting warmer for a while, but I finally feel like Spring is just around the corner. I can't wait to wear short shorts, drink iced coffee and start exploring the city. It also means I will be looking for apartments soon! There's nothing I love more than warm afternoons where I can wander around and see what the city has to offer. Last Spring Francesca and I would often take day trips to Brooklyn to go to the Flea market, thrift stores and get away for a little. The cold weather makes me lazy. I often choose watching a movie in my bed to exploring new places. The warm weather will also mean shedding my dark, winter layers in exchange for bright colors and floral dresses! What are you excited about for Spring?

Nola

This year for Spring Break Chloe and I decided to take a trip down to sunny New Orleans. It was so nice to trade in our jackets for tanktops and long pants for short shorts. I instantly fell in love with New Orleans - the culture, the people, the history. Everyone is as nice as can be. We stayed with Fred who was nice enough to accomodate us and even be our guide the first night we were there. We explored the French Quarter, specifically Bourbon St. I know it's something that people can get sick of, but there is a magic about it. Late at night with the bright lights, crowded with people spilling out of bars, I really enjoyed it. More pictures to come!
