Spring is in the air

It's been getting warmer for a while, but I finally feel like Spring is just around the corner. I can't wait to wear short shorts, drink iced coffee and start exploring the city. It also means I will be looking for apartments soon! There's nothing I love more than warm afternoons where I can wander around and see what the city has to offer. Last Spring Francesca and I would often take day trips to Brooklyn to go to the Flea market, thrift stores and get away for a little. The cold weather makes me lazy. I often choose watching a movie in my bed to exploring new places. The warm weather will also mean shedding my dark, winter layers in exchange for bright colors and floral dresses! Under the weather

Woke up feeling under the weather this morning. I felt myself getting sick yesterday, but I drank vitamin C, tea and aloe drinks in the hope of warding it off with no luck. This timing isn't the greatest, so I'm going to try and take care of myself while studying and taking midterms. Hopefully all goes well!

I've been drawn to these pictures since I've been sick. Being cozy in warm sweaters, laying in my bed, drinking tea and missing home is all I've been doing for the past three days. It's amazing how homesick I get when I'm sick. I think everyone does though! Missing all the comforts of home, my family, my bed and especially my cat! There's nothing like an animal hanging out with you unselfishly when you're sick. Feeling better already today. Excited for a full recovery so I can have more adventures!

As you can see my favorite things are a combination of practical, functional and silly. They are both things I got before coming to Florence and things to remember my wonderful stay here. Things like warm sweaters and comfy pants are all I want to wear, especially with fall just around the corner! I know my collection of small trinkets for my curio cabinet is going to grow, as is the list of things I feel are necessities! Going away for the weekend, so stay tuned for pictures!
