Velvet Overalls

Velvet overalls//free people, sheer top//h&m

These are the overalls Katherine picked up for my birthday from the consignment shop where she works - 12 bucks! Velvety-soft and boudoir purple, they're like a dream. The color and fabric transports me to a room with lush linens, soft curtains, and comfy pillows. They're kind of hard to see in the pictures, which Katherine snapped of me in her backyard just before the sun went down in Philly. I have serious spring fever right now. I'm looking forward to the warm weekend. You better believe I'll be showing off these pale legs and spending the whole weekend outside!

P.s. This is my 150th post! I never thought I'd be blogging this long after study abroad, but I'm still loving it more than ever. Huzzah!

Fancy Pants

h&m pants, free people top

I'm so excited to finally post these pants! I won these pants in a give away from Natalie off duty x H&M. I was worried that these pants would be hard to wear, but they're so comfortable. These babies are the ultimate dancing pants. They dance all my themselves when I when I walk. I wore them out to a bar a couple weeks ago and danced my bum off. They bring out this boogie side of me I never knew existed. It's hard to stand still in them, I'm usually moving from side to side like a little kid. I like that I can dress them up or down. I decided to keep my look monochromatic since my hair/makeup combination adds a lot of color. I wore this to a unicorn themed party I threw at my apartment for Ella's 21st birthday. Everything was pink and purple and covered in glitter. These pants were majestic enough to fit the theme.

My favorite things

1. Ox blood velvet faux doc martens, H&M (Florence)
2. Medici leather purse, gift from my Dad (Florence)
3. Detachable collar, H&M (Florence)
4. Platypus water bottlegift from my Dad and Leslie
5. Cat and dog mug, 99 cent store (Florence)
6. Comfy pants and warm sweaters: free people, brandy melville and calvin klein
7. Collection of small objects: Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Cinque Terre, Capri, Positano and Mt. Vesuvius

As you can see my favorite things are a combination of practical, functional and silly. They are both things I got before coming to Florence and things to remember my wonderful stay here. Things like warm sweaters and comfy pants are all I want to wear, especially with fall just around the corner! I know my collection of small trinkets for my curio cabinet is going to grow, as is the list of things I feel are necessities! Going away for the weekend, so stay tuned for pictures!
