I've been drawn to these pictures since I've been sick. Being cozy in warm sweaters, laying in my bed, drinking tea and missing home is all I've been doing for the past three days. It's amazing how homesick I get when I'm sick. I think everyone does though! Missing all the comforts of home, my family, my bed and especially my cat! There's nothing like an animal hanging out with you unselfishly when you're sick. Feeling better already today. Excited for a full recovery so I can have more adventures!

Ode to fall

First of all Happy Birthday to my wonderful and caring father! I'm sorry I can't be there with you to celebrate, but I hope you have a great one. None of these pictures are mine, they're just from tumblr, but they all make me miss fall! Changing leaves, apple picking, pumpkin carving, drinking tea to stay warm, wearing cozy sweaters, I miss all of it! It's still warm here, and despite constantly trying to wear sweaters, it is not sweater season. I miss the smell of the seasons changing and the chilly breeze that fall brings. Luckily it's supposed to be chilly wear I'm going this weekend so I'm packing sweaters. With three midterms under my belt, I couldn't be more ready to get away. Have a good weekend!

As you can see my favorite things are a combination of practical, functional and silly. They are both things I got before coming to Florence and things to remember my wonderful stay here. Things like warm sweaters and comfy pants are all I want to wear, especially with fall just around the corner! I know my collection of small trinkets for my curio cabinet is going to grow, as is the list of things I feel are necessities! Going away for the weekend, so stay tuned for pictures!
