City Park

These photos are the last from my trip to New Orleans. They were taken on Tuesday morning right before Chloe and I got a plane back to New York. We purposely booked a later flight so we could have some more time to explore. We decided to walk to City Park, which took about an hour. When we got to the park we ate a cafe near the art museum. I got jumbalaya, coffee and of course beignets (I'm obsessed). Afterwards we wandered around the sculpture garden outside the art museum, posing with the statues as Chloe and I like to do. Afterwards we said our final fair wells to such a special city. I have every intention of living in New Orleans at some point in my life.

Haunted Streets

I can't believe how behind I have gotten on blogging. These pictures are from the second and third day that Chloe and I spent in New Orleans. On Sunday we went down to Bourbon Street and spent the day wandering around and then watching the parade. Afterwards we danced to live music and enjoyed the late night magic of New Orleans. We were decked out with green St. Patrick's day garb. The following day Chloe and I strolled through the French Market, buying souvenirs and trying the local cuisine. We then went to the famous Cafe du Monde to get chicory coffee and piping hot beignets covered in powdered sugar. On Monday night we went on a ghost tour that took us winding through the streets of the French Quarter. It wasn't scary, but it was interesting and a great way to see the city. Afterwards we went back to Fred's for a feast of crawfish, mac and cheese and corn.

Nola

This year for Spring Break Chloe and I decided to take a trip down to sunny New Orleans. It was so nice to trade in our jackets for tanktops and long pants for short shorts. I instantly fell in love with New Orleans - the culture, the people, the history. Everyone is as nice as can be. We stayed with Fred who was nice enough to accomodate us and even be our guide the first night we were there. We explored the French Quarter, specifically Bourbon St. I know it's something that people can get sick of, but there is a magic about it. Late at night with the bright lights, crowded with people spilling out of bars, I really enjoyed it. More pictures to come!
