Sunday Sandwiches: Bagels on the Square

For this weekend's Sunday sandwiches I went with Chloe and her cousin, Ellen, to bagels on the square. I got my favorite bagel sandwich combination which I stole from Francesca - egg whites, cheese and avocado on a whole wheat everything. I was starting to feel sick so I got an aloe drink. I heard about them from someone and forgot that they told me it has pieces of aloe! Have you guys tried this? It's weird, but refreshing. We ate in the park between 6th and Bleeker since it was so nice out. Currently in my last week of midterms and I can't wait until I'm done! Wish me luck.

Sunday Sandwiches: Amy's Bread

Chloe and I went to Amy's Bread yesterday for our weekly Sunday sandwiches. It is located on Bleeker in the area known as sandwich alley. The sandwiches are premade, but they are fresh. There are display cases filled with sweets and fresh baked bread. I got a sandwich with brie, apples and watercress. It was the first nice day in a while so I got an ice coffee and we sat outside in a little park between Bleeker and Sixth Ave.

Sunday Sandwiches

As you may remember from Italy, Chloe and I had the tradition of waking up late on Sundays and going out to get sandwiches. We missed it and realized that we didn't need to stop our tradition just because we left Italy! There is a block in the West Village nicknamed sandwich alley that offers a bunch of new places for us to try, and it also gives us the chance to explore our new neighborhood. First up - Murray's Cheese Shop. A cute, slightly expensive, specialty store (there are display cases packed with meats and cheeses). I ordered the Dude - short ribs, onion jam, horseradish mayo and comte. Yum! It was a deceptive amount of food, but left me full for hours. It was a great way to start Superbowl Sunday. I went to an apartment in Harlem to watch it with some pizza and beer. I was rooting for the Ravens, so needless to say I was happy with the outcome!

First Week Back

1. Tip jar at the Bean
2. Fancy bikes
3. Dirty chai latte
4. Flannels on Bleeker
5. Washington Square Park
6. Watching Girls and snacking with Chloe
7. Wrap with hummus, spinach, sprouts, chicken and avocado
8. Hanging out with Olivia in her new apartment
9. Cupcakes my suitemate brought back from her job

Since I've been back in New York I've been walking nonstop, hanging out in the lower East side, eating just as much as Italy, drinking coffee in to go mugs and catching up with friends. I'm so excited for the weekend, I'm planning on doing work, exploring the West Village and of course eating.
