Gypsy

My blog got a facelift! I figured after a year it was time to change things up. Chloe's back in NYC! Since she's never been, we decided to go to Coney Island yesterday and act like kids. I did my usual Coney Island activities - massive beer, multiple hot dogs, the occasional ride. We also went to the beach. In the past I've gone too early or late in the year to have swimming be anything but an unrealized double-dog dare. I couldn't believe how pleasant the swimming was, despite not being a very beachy day. I wore this awesome kimono that gypsy-fies anything you put it over. Seems like summer is ending just as I'd hoped!

One Year Anniversary!

Say 'Happy Birthday' to my blog! It's officially old news. It doesn't feel like I've been blogging for a year, but I'm assuming the internet is more reliable than me for memory...which is why I started blogging in the first place. It originally started when I studied abroad in Italy, as a visual diary for my friends and family who wanted to keep up with my adventures. I was so fortunate to be able to travel as much as I did! I went to London, Paris, Berlin, Brussels, Madrid, Amsterdam and all over Italy! Studying abroad was one of the most rewarding times of my life and I was forced to mature quickly. It sounds like a cliche, but I don't care...people gush like valley-girl cheerleaders about study abroad for a reason!

Looking through this last year made me so thankful for all the things I got to do and more importantly - the people I got to do it with! I don't know where I would be without my supportive family and great friends (including some recent, but wonderful friends). In addition to traveling, I ATE unbelievably well. The pictures from my archive made my mouth salivate like a dog in front of recently cooked meat. I've been a lucky girl!

Thank you to everyone who has continued (or recently started) to read my blog! Ultimately, it will always be for me, but I'm happy if others enjoy reading it as well. I'm not stopping anytime soon, so keep reading for my New York City adventures! I look forward to the upcoming year!

Welcome to Here

These pictures are long overdue. They're from a trip a took down to Philly at the end of June. I went down to visit Katherine and hang out with her roommate(s) - Michelle, Basil Bunny and Sherman...the cat. They just moved into a new house and let me tell you - these ladies can decorate! They're both art students with good eyes for details. Their house is alot of fun to hang out and spot all the little knick-knacks. Not to mention hang out and drink beer while being surrounded by animals. My favorite is the picture of Katherine and BB where she looks like Wednesday Adams. I read the sign behind her quickly and thought it said 'welcome to here.' I still think it's funny to read it that way. As always, Katherine and I ate way too much good food and caught up. We went to a bar that I've wanted to go to for years, the El bar (or as I like to call it - the THE bar) because they offer an adult kid's meal. A PBR, two hot dogs and a toy. Unfortunately, I ate too much earlier and was only able to drink some cheap PBRs, but we had a good time picking some oldies classics on the juke box (Madonna anyone?), belting out 'you're so vain' - Katherine's go to karaoke song and playing metallica  pinball with Michelle's friend, 'whiskey legs.' We also got to tour the yards brewery - a free tour that comes with a couple sample beers.

I'm off to the Adirondacks to go camping and hiking. Hope you all have a good weekend!
