Apartment Inspiration

Sources: Onyx eye and tumblr

I signed my lease yesterday and I couldn't be more excited. I'm moving to Brooklyn! I can't wait to explore an entirely new area. Brooklyn seems like a really cool place to live. There is a community garden directly across the street! I'm so excited to have a place of my own to decorate with lots of plants, sunlight, candles and fairylights. The most exciting part is that we have a private patio, which means lots of barbecuing and suntanning. Does anyone have any recommendations for things to do in Park Slope?

P.s. This is my 100th post on my blog!

Sunday Sandwiches: 'sNice

I've been meaning to go to s'Nice for such a long time. One of my roommates works there and will often bring back some of their delicious baked goods. Chloe and I ended up eating a completely vegan meal -  smoked tempeh wrap with greens, avocado, tomato and chipotle dressing, black coffee and then we split vegan cookies. Their peanut butter and jelly cookies are absolutely amazing. Hopefully once things settle down with school I can start baking again and try to recreate them. I've been wanting to get more into vegan baking. Walking back home we noticed that everything is in bloom and I love being able to go outside without a jacket.

Sunday Sandwiches: Afternoon Cocktails at Hotel Chantelle

These pictures were taken last Sunday when Chloe and I went to a Gatsby themed rooftop cocktail party at the Hotel Chantelle. It's nice to see people get dressed up, especially on a Sunday when they could be sleeping late and lounging around in their PJs (which is usually how you'll find me). They had a bar with Gatsby themed cocktails: strawberry mimosas, jalapeƱo bloody marys and blueberry mojitos. There was delicious finger food everywhere and it was all free! At first we were suspicious, but then we decided not to question a good thing. I ate about a dozen of the little crab cakes, I couldn't get enough. It's definitely not our usually lazy Sunday sandwiches, but I wouldn't mind getting used to this!

Grunge

Spent Saturday night reliving the 90's. We tied flannels around our waist and played twister. The 90's were absolutely my most awkward times, filled with high-water pants and questionable hairstyles. Looking back on it, I wish it was as glamorous at Clueless made it seem (plus I wish I had Cher's closet!). I miss things like giga pets, light-up sneakers, dunkaroos and of course the TV shows! My favorite were Doug, Hey Arnold, Clarissa Explains it All, Boy Meets World and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I'm not as good at patty cake as I once was...or twister for that matter.
