Nola

This year for Spring Break Chloe and I decided to take a trip down to sunny New Orleans. It was so nice to trade in our jackets for tanktops and long pants for short shorts. I instantly fell in love with New Orleans - the culture, the people, the history. Everyone is as nice as can be. We stayed with Fred who was nice enough to accomodate us and even be our guide the first night we were there. We explored the French Quarter, specifically Bourbon St. I know it's something that people can get sick of, but there is a magic about it. Late at night with the bright lights, crowded with people spilling out of bars, I really enjoyed it. More pictures to come!

Birthday Party

These pictures were all taken by Chloe last Thursday for my 21st birthday! I spent dinner at Loreley Restaurant and Biergarten with my loved ones, a perfect place to eat and drink alot. Afterwards Chloe and Gabby threw a party for me at Gabby's apartment. It was honestly perfect. Alot of my friends are not 21 yet, so I'd rather spend it in an apartment than a bar. Thanks to everyone who helped me celebrate, it was an incredible birthday!

A little help from my friends

All pictures from Natalie

These pictures were taken last Friday when a couple friends from home came to stay with me. It's always nice when friends from home and school meet and get along great. I know some of them are blurry, but they were too good not to put in! I have a huge grin on my face in almost every photo. There's nothing like catching up and laughing, all the while being silly. The next morning I went to Central Park with Jimmy, Chloe and Chloe's cousin Megan because I had to write a paper on the Balto Statue. It was the first warm spring day of the year and it was the perfect way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon.

I took my last midterm before Spring Break today! I have lots of exciting things happening in the next couple days, so stay tuned!

Cold Remedies

Yesterday when I told Jeff I wasn't feeling well he said that his mother always makes him green tea with lemon, honey and ginger. I gave it a try and it's great! Other cold remedies include dayquil, tissues infused with lotion and warm meals like this one - couscous with spinach, chickpeas, sun dried tomatoes and sriracha.

What you need:
1 Packet of green tea (or loose tea in an infuser)
1 teaspoon of peeled and chopped ginger
1 teaspoon honey
1 lemon wedge

*Jeff reminded me that the ginger gets strong if it steeps too long. I like leaving it in because it helps clear my sinuses, but if this does not appeal to you always take it out!
Hope this helps anyone who is also feeling under the weather!

Under the weather

All pictures from tumblr

Woke up feeling under the weather this morning. I felt myself getting sick yesterday, but I drank vitamin C, tea and aloe drinks in the hope of warding it off with no luck. This timing isn't the greatest, so I'm going to try and take care of myself while studying and taking midterms. Hopefully all goes well!

Sunday Sandwiches: Bagels on the Square

For this weekend's Sunday sandwiches I went with Chloe and her cousin, Ellen, to bagels on the square. I got my favorite bagel sandwich combination which I stole from Francesca - egg whites, cheese and avocado on a whole wheat everything. I was starting to feel sick so I got an aloe drink. I heard about them from someone and forgot that they told me it has pieces of aloe! Have you guys tried this? It's weird, but refreshing. We ate in the park between 6th and Bleeker since it was so nice out. Currently in my last week of midterms and I can't wait until I'm done! Wish me luck.

Lovin'

This past weekend I went to Binghampton to visit Jimmy with Danny and Ella. On Friday I took the train from the city to Bard and then Ella drove us and Danny met us there. There is no greater feeling than being able to be yourself completely without reservation or fear of judgement. The weekend went by in a second and I was sad to see it go so quickly. Group stretching, cuddle puddles, late nights and afternoon naps. I spent the whole weekend either giggling or whole-heartedly laughing. It's really amazing to be with people who know you so well. This week is finals and the only thing getting me through it are all the fun memories from this past weekend!
